Do you need a doctor and health treatment? 

The Italian State guarantees essential and urgent care to foreigners, both regular and irregular (i.e., without a residence permit/visa). If you are irregular, you won’t be reported by health staff!
The Italian health system is based on the National Health Service (Servizio Sanitario Nazionale - SSN), which includes regional public health facilities and services as well as other private facilities. In Sardinia it is divided into 8 healthcare reference areas (“ASSL”).
